The Notice of Availability for Draft EIS extension was published in the Federal Register on October 11, 2024.

The Notice of Availability for the Draft EIS was published in the Federal Register on August 9, 2024, formally starting the public review and comment period.

An amended Notice of Intent was published in the Federal Register that extended the public scoping comment period to June 3, 2022.

The Air Force announced its intention to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of optimizing the special use airspace available to support Air Force missions in Arizona. The Notice of Intent was published in the Federal Register on January 18, 2022. Please note that the Federal Register publication includes an in-person meeting in Bagdad, Arizona. This meeting was canceled after that publication due to rising COVID cases and public gathering restrictions in that locality. Please monitor the Attend a Meeting section of this website for changes to venues or cancellations due to evolving COVID restrictions.

The scoping period has begun. The Air Force is soliciting comments on the potential alternatives to the Proposed Action and information or analyses relevant to the Proposed Action. Comments can be made at public meetings, submitted online at the project website (www.ArizonaRegionalAirspaceEIS.com), or by mailing to: Arizona Regional Airspace EIS, c/o Cardno, 501 Butler Farm Rd., Suite H, Hampton, VA 23666. To ensure full consideration of all comments in preparing the Draft EIS, comments should be submitted by March 4, 2022.
